In St. Petersburg, a mobilized man who escaped from the front and lived in an abandoned house was sentenced to seven years in a maximum security colony

The St. Petersburg garrison military court sentenced Vladislav Madaychikov, mobilized from the Leningrad region, who refused to participate in the war in Ukraine, to seven years in a maximum security colony. This was reported by the joint press service of the city courts.

Madaychikov was found guilty of desertion (Part 3 of Article 338 of the Criminal Code), and he was taken into custody in the courtroom. According to investigators, he was called up for service and sent to the front near the LPR. While in the dugout, on October 27, he refused to carry out the commander’s order to leave for a defensive position and, without waiting for the military commandant’s office, he fled along with the weapons issued to him.

The man changed into civilian clothes, burned his military ID and began living in an abandoned house, not far from which he buried the weapon. There he remained until November 1. Later, having taken a car from a woman previously unknown to him, he left for the Rostov region, and from there he got home to the Leningrad region.

On November 10, Madaichikov voluntarily came to the military investigative department of the Investigative Committee for the St. Petersburg garrison, as a result of which a criminal case was opened against him.
