The ex-director of the Krasnoyarsk Tatyshev-Park and the multiple world champion in powerlifting Maxim Barkhatov died in Ukraine, TBK said with reference to his coach Vladimir Kortunov.

According to him, Barhatov died near Bakhmut in April, he went to war in early 2023. His relatives learned about death only on June 12.

Last May, Barkhatov was sentenced to six years in a maximum colony and a fine of 580 thousand rubles per bribe in the form of Lexus LX 570 and Mercedes Benz E-300 cars, which he received from the contractor Sergei Manshin when he worked as the head of the Krasnoyarsk center for the implementation of social projects. For this, Barhatov transferred contracts to the entrepreneur for servicing the island of Tatyshev in Krasnoyarsk for a total of 60 million rubles.

In 2011, at the World Powerlifting Championship in the Czech Republic, velvets set a world record, taking 1072.5 kilograms in the amount of Troeoborye. Barkhatov also won the European championship in the weight category up to 120 kilograms twice.
In 2018, the athlete was invited to the administration of the Leninsky district of Krasnoyarsk to the post of first deputy head. In the spring of 2019, he headed the city center for the implementation of social projects, but after a year of the leadership, the Markhatov institution was fired.
