The State Duma finally adopted the Law on Amnesty for convicts at the conclusion of a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation

The State Duma immediately in the second and third readings finally adopted the law on the release of convicts and defendants in criminal cases from punishment when signing a contract from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation or mobilization, follows from the data of the State Duma base.

The law will allow the defendants in criminal cases convicted and concluded to be freed after signing the contract from the Ministry of Defense. It will act during the period of mobilization, during martial law or in wartime. Control over the behavior of the under investigation will be transferred to the command of military units.

The military “amnesty” will affect people in respect of whom a preliminary investigation is conducted or sentenced under any articles of the Criminal Code, except for those found guilty of terrorist and extremist crimes, sabotage, state reception or crimes against sexual integrity of minors.

The law assumes that the criminal record has been extinguished since the awarding of the State Yard in military service or from the day of dismissal from the army by age or health. The bill was submitted to the State Duma on June 13.
