Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov informed President Vladimir Putin that a criminal case had been opened against businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin. This was announced by presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
“The Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Krasnov reported to Putin in the context of initiating a criminal case in connection with an attempt to organize an armed rebellion,” Peskov said (quoted by Interfax ).
According to Peskov, Krasnov also informed the President of the Russian Federation about the legality of initiating such a criminal case.
The Ministry of Defense, the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Russian National Guard report to Putin around the clock on the measures taken on his instructions in connection with the attempted rebellion, Peskov also noted.
