16-year-old Denis Potapov came to study in Tatarstan in September last year from the Sverdlovsk region. In his hometown of Kushva, he became famous as a collector of autographs. In his collection - an autograph from the maid of honor of the British Queen Elizabeth II, from Angel Merkel, from actor Oleg Yankovsky and other celebrities. In October 2021, the Sverdlovsk governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev wrote about Denis's enthusiasm. After that, Potapov began to be invited to various events where he talked about his hobby, and the Elabuzh historical and architectural museum-reserve even invited him to organize an exhibition.
Grandmother Denis, Nadezhda Potapova, in a conversation with the “line” said that the grandson was a deeply believers and asked for everything to be blessed from God. His friend in the summer camp, Anton Romanov (the name was changed), also noted that Denis spoke a lot about God. In the subscriptions of Denis in VKontakte there are pages dedicated to Orthodoxy, in particular, the page of Patriarch Kirill.
In addition, according to Romanov, Potapov “sad about the execution of the royal family by the Bolsheviks” and dreamed in the future “to restore the Russian Empire”. On the cover of Denis's page in VK - a portrait of Nicholas II, and in the playlist there are several compositions dedicated to the Russian king. In addition to history, he, apparently, was interested in politics. He was signed on the pages of Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the leader of the Just Russia Sergey Mironov and to the head of the self -proclaimed DPR Denis Pushilin.
“It seems to me that it was just youthful maximalism,” Anton thinks about the views of his friend. - He [Denis] was a rather interesting conversationalist. Although a little clamped in yourself, as if closed. "
According to Anton, Denis seemed older due to his thoughts than he was, and he had little in common with her peers. But there were no thoughts of suicide.
“He clearly did not consider his life meaningless. [Denis] was a deeply believers, and, I think, he knew that suicide was one of the most terrible sins. He treated life quite seriously, ”says Anton.
According to his grandmother, Denis dreamed of engaging in scientific activities, and went to Alabuga Polytech because "they trusted advertising." He wanted to expel, but, as his grandmother says, his relatives "did not hear him."
“We did not understand him, we thought that the first year of study was given heavily. After all, there are even greater fines for deductions, and, in fact, the education there was given so -so, ” said Nadezhda Potapova E1.ru.
In the case of deducting Potapov, indeed, he had to pay more than a hundred thousand rubles for seven months of training.
Alabuga Polytech began work on April 5, 2021. The opening was attended by the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, who will later visit the college more than once. In February 2023, he spoke about Politech Vladimir Putin as an example of the Center for the training of working specialties. In response, the president thanked Minnikhanov "for the supply of personnel to the federal level."
At Alabuga Polytech, they take to study after grade 9. The educational institution is located on the territory of the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Alabuga OEZ Alabuga - the industrial cluster in the Elabuga district of the Republic of Tatarstan. 34% belongs to the republic, by 66% to the state. According to SPARK, at the end of 2021, revenue amounted to 2.5 billion rubles, a net loss - 578 million rubles. , adjacent to more than 50 factories - residents of the SEZ, in particular with the assembly enterprise for the first persons of Aurus, with the production of plant protection and polymer containers, concrete and other plants. The fact that children live on the territory of the industrial zone are also drawn to the grandmother of the deceased. According to her, barbed wire is stretched around the perimeter of the territory.
Polytechnic students promise a scholarship of up to 77 thousand rubles and practical experience from the first year of study. At the same time, you do not need to take exams for admission, you just need to play the game-the so-called business symulation, where the player’s task is to grow healthy cats and profitably sell them.
As the lawyer in the field of counteracting corruption Grigory Mashanov, on the Alabuga Polytechnic website , there is no information about the educational organization - neither a license for educational activities, nor the legal name of the organization, nor a list of teachers. In the Unified State Register of Legal Entities "Alabuga Politha" is also not.
At the same time, they advertise Polytech very actively. So, a year ago, a blogger and singer Instasamka (Daria Zoteeva) starred in the promo-rock of the college. According to Mash, it cost Alabuga two million rubles, the edition of 116.ru writes about 2.5 million. Zoteeva herself in an interview said that the advertising integration of three Storis on her Instagram costs 15 thousand dollars (more than a million rubles). In addition, college advertising appears in large telegram channels-for example, in Dvach , in channels about education . They promise that students will become “world -class pro” and receive the “profession of the future for free”. Liberties about college were published in RBC Trends , on Mel .
Polytech actively leads social networks, and students themselves participate in the shooting of advertising, talk about their successes and show work on projects. For a younger audience, the Alabuga PR has another content: the college YouTube channel has an animated video in which two cartoon heroes discuss their prospects. One of them goes “to the best college and learns to manage large production”, and the other in grade 11. While the student of Alabuga is already making good money and moves along the career ladder, his classmate cannot find a job. The video ends with a meme with the inscription: "Alabuga steers."
It was advertising, according to schoolchildren and parents from different regions, that pushed them to enter Polytech. So it was with the family of Denis Potapov.
“ We trusted advertising, we were sure that they give a good education and great prospects in the future. We wanted the best for our Denis, ”says his grandmother. “ We were deceived, and very much.”
The ideal image of a progressive college is called into question not only the words of Denis's family. After the news of his death in the media and social networks, a lot of reviews of other Politha students about the cruelty, physical punishments and non -payment of the promised scholarships appeared .
So, in a conversation with the “line”, many said that in Polytechnic, all students are obliged to play the so -called “patriotic paintball”, which is impossible even for health reasons. In the event of a loss, a team is waiting for a collective punishment - either shooting (with paintball balls), or digging trenches.
“Nobody paid attention to physical abilities, everyone should play in the cold and slush,” says former student Christina (the name was changed at the request of the heroine). - From protection - thin camouflage and helmet. The game was not taught, I had to learn from mistakes and punishments. One of them - the student should run to several people who shoot him at a very short distance. While the children have not suffered and wrote a complaint, it did not stop. Losters from morning to evening in the rain forced sappry shovels to dig trenches, a person’s depth and a length of more than a kilometer. ”
Four months ago, in the Alabuga Polytechnic group, the VK published a video “The largest paintball tournament” (another name “Military-patriotic tournament”), in which 500 people took part. The footage shows how students in camouflage and helmets run around a huge field and shoot opponents who are hiding in a special building - according to the idea, these are the Nazis, whom students should “destroy”. On the frames, collegeists are shown as soldiers who line up in the line, wring their hands on opponents and rejoice at their “destruction”.
“We are taught patriotism. This ralves us. We are ready to reflect any provocation, ”the students say in the video. To the question “Do you have only paintball machines?”, One of the guys mysteriously smiles and leaves the question unanswered.
The edition of 116.ru, with reference to the public procurement portal , wrote that last fall, Alabuga SEZ spent at least 16 million rubles on body armor, military ammunition, quadrocopter and pneumatic heap. Equipment and clothing were bought directly from unknown suppliers.
As former students told the “line”, the paintball began at 4-5 in the morning. For being late, a fine is one “pool” from all team members. After playing the body, many had bruises and bruises. All this takes place within the framework of the “largest in Russia” Center for Military-Patriotic Education, which opened on the basis of Polytech in November 2022. There is no information about what they are doing besides paintball in public access.
“Very cruel people, the lost team directly shoot at point -blank. It is clear that these are balls, but after them there are bruises, ”the mother of the former student Zhanna Vorobyova complained to the“ line ”. - The children even uploaded a photo in the chat, there the whole back is blue. They didn’t share at all: girls, boys ... Everyone needs to endure. ”
According to her, the parents turned to the prosecutor at the end of September, when the children were forced to dig trenches in the rain. The next day, many of the guys got sick, but instead of giving time to lay down, they were all sent to the pediatrician to the gym for a certificate.
All students surveyed by the “line” confirm that the games in the “patriotic” Pintbol were played by the head of the Alabuga SEZ, 45-year-old Timur Shagivaleev, a longtime associate of Rustam Minnikhanov and, as local media write , “one of his favorites”.
At the end of the nineties, Shagivaleev graduated from MGIMO and worked for a year in the representative office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation in South Korea, and since 2001 he began his career as an official in his native Tatarstan. Grandfather Shagivaleeva is Boris Kadnikov, the chief builder of Tatarstan and the general director of Tatglavsnab OJSC, who died in 2021.
Already at the age of 30, Shagivaleev headed the Committee on Supporting the Small and Medium Business of the Republic. This purpose, as local media wrote, "made a real splash in the entrepreneurial community."

Since 2011, Shagivaleev is the general director of Alabuga. At this time, he begins to lead Twitter , where he tells English about residents and OEZ investors. In 2020, remaining at the post of Gender, he is elected as a deputy of the State Council of Tatarstan from United Russia. Around the same time, more and more posts about patriotism appear in his twitter. So, in September 2021, he posted a photograph in which people in camouflage with weapons and in masks posing against the background of the flag of the USSR.
“Within the framework of military-patriotic games, a real combat fraternity is being formed,” Schagivaleev signed a photo.
The official also told how the Russian feature film about the feat of Podolsk cadets during the defense of Moscow in the fall of 1941 watches with the best students with the best students. I was released in 2020. After that, students are enrolled in the “sergeants-volunteers” (where exactly they “serve”, the “line” could not be found out).
In addition to cruel paintball, it raises the questions and remuneration of students. None of the children surveyed by the “line” received the promised 77 thousand rubles.
“Those who can walk over their heads can work quickly and most,” says former student Nikita Gudkov. - If other colleges tried to bring students closer closer, then in the Polytechnic we were told that we were competitors. There was rivalry because of the money. Somehow, a teacher in Mede (Politekh students attend the pairs of local medical union by agreement of educational institutions,-the “line” ) said that we are not like children because of this. ”
Another former student, Christina, said that her maximum earnings was six thousand, classmates received up to nine thousand. At the same time, she was sent to work at a plant where there was no work for children - she had to sit idle for a long time or get out. But Elvira Fomina, director of Politha, did not allow the place to change their place of work.
According to Jeanne, the mother of the former student, the son had to miss classes because of work, otherwise they threatened to deprive the bonus. The work schedule is irregular, sometimes the boy came from “projects” at 12 in the morning.
“You understand what’s the matter: if you work only eight hours, you will get a naked salary - three thousand rubles. And the fee for the hostel is one and a half thousand, ”says Jeanne. - Few children work in the areas to which they came to study. Maybe two or three in the specialty, and the rest are free labor. ”
At the disposal of the editorial office there is a screen of correspondence from the student chat of one of the areas where students are urgently looking for the assembly of pallets. The author of the message writes that in four hours it is necessary to collect 110 pallets "at least manually, at least like." In case of refusal, threatens to dismiss the same day.
“Robless”, according to RBC Tatarstan, is a “high-tech production and educational complex, aimed at improving the practical skills of future engineers”. According to one of the students, for a shift there, students collect 80-90 pallets, which are needed at the enterprises of the Alabuga SEZ.
Education at Alabuga Politekh is free. At least so the college will present itself in the media. However, in the case of deduction (including at his own request), the student is obliged to pay compensation. Its size depends on the direction.
“I still pay my fine, I was issued an account of almost a hundred thousand rubles,” says Nikita Gudkov, who studied for about four months in the direction “Therapeutic and medical equipment”. “We agreed that we will pay four months, and now (in April) the guys will have to pay more when deducting or care.”
Denis Potapov told Gudkov that he wanted to leave Polytech, but, as Nikita believes, his parents did not allow him to do this: “Perhaps he did not find another way out. It is very intense [in study]. ”
Nikita does not believe in the murder or bringing to the suicide of Potapov.
Denis’s classmate was also expelled in December last year. Her mother Nadezhda (names are changed) says that over four months of study, they demanded compensation for more than 90 thousand. Of these, 35 thousand - for a medical education, which is provided by the Elabuga Medical College, the remaining 56 thousand - for spending Alabuga SEZ.
“ It is absolutely not clear why these 56 thousand (students pay for the hostel themselves - one and a half thousand rubles a month),” Eugene is indignant. - I was personally glad that she was expelled. My child has dried up there, she lost three times almost, nothing left of her. ”
In a conversation with the publication of 116.ru, students complained that in the hostels where they live, mold divorced, and water was dripping from the ceiling in rainy weather. But the leadership of the college did not respond to these messages.
The contract (is at the disposal of the editorial office), which is concluded with the student - tripartite: between the student, the Alabuga SEZ and the educational institution, which, depending on the direction, provides educational services. So, the third party may be the Elabuga Institute (branch) of the Kazan Federal University (KFU), the Elabuzh Medical School and the Elabuzh Pedagogical College. At the same time, nothing is written in the contract about the Alabuga Polytech himself. That is, in fact, students are not engaged in the training of students, but a third party.
A lawyer in the field of combating corruption Grigory Mashanov notes that the document looks like an agreement on paid educational services, and it does not mention targeted training, but in fact this is the target set.
“In fact, this is a target training agreement, but it is not mentioned in the text. I think this was done specifically so that the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation on targeted training, which allows the termination of the contract for good reason, does not apply to it, ”says Mashanov. “However, if you challenge the requirement to return the money in court, then he can recognize this agreement by the contract of target learning, as, for example, the GPC agreement can be recognized as labor.”
For example, according to paragraph 19 of the Government Decree, if the student became a disabled person of the I or II group, he can terminate the contract without the obligation to compensate for the training. In the agreement with the SEZ there is no mention of how a student can terminate it for a good reason.
