Megafon fined for “LGBT propaganda” among minors

The Tverskoy District Court has fined the Megafon TV online cinema, owned by the Megafon mobile operator, one million rubles in an administrative case on “LGBT propaganda” among children. This is reported by TASS, referring to the press service of the court.

The reason for drawing up the protocol was the demonstration of the films "The Barber of England", "Bridget Jones's Diary" and "Greed" with an age limit of "16+", clarifies "OVD-Info".

Earlier, Tricolor Cinema and TV was fined in St. Petersburg for the same reason. Then the press service of the city courts explained that in the film "The Barber of England" they showed two "heroes of the same sex (female) kissing in a sexual context."

In Moscow, the court also fined the Start online cinema for 3.7 million rubles. The reason was the screening of the film "Perfect Strangers" by Paolo Genovese, also with the qualification "16+". There is an episode in the film in which one of the heroines comes out in front of her friends.

In total, Roskomnadzor drew up 19 protocols against Russian online cinemas for maintaining access for underage users to LGBT content, as well as for its incorrect age marking.
