The general director of the Avtomatika concern Motorko, owned by Rostec, was sent to pre-trial detention on charges of fraud.

The Presnensky District Court of Moscow sent Andrei Motorko, the general director of the Avtomatika concern, which belongs to Rostec, to pre-trial detention. The press service of the court reported this to Mediazona.

Motorko is accused of fraud on an especially large scale (part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code). Earlier, the same court placed another person involved in the case under arrest, Motorko’s subordinate Alexander Nesterov.

On June 28, Kommersant, citing the Investigative Committee , reported that security forces had opened a criminal case for fraud against “unidentified persons” from Avtomatika. The concern's office was searched. According to investigators, the concern received a subsidy of 300 million rubles from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, presenting as its development antenna systems purchased in China to provide satellite communications in cars, trains, water and air transport. Nesterov himself led the project on satellite systems.

Previously, one of the pages on the Avtomatika website was dedicated to the biography of Motorko. Now, when going to this page, an error occurs - the message says: “Element not found!” For some time, a copy of Motorko’s biography from the concern’s website was available in the web archive , but it subsequently stopped being opened.

According to information from the website, Motorko became the CEO of the company in 2021; before that, he headed the Signal subsidiary and was the first deputy head of Avtomatika. In addition, the Russian Ministry of Defense awarded him a medal twice.

The Avtomatika concern itself has been part of the Rostec structure since 2014. As stated on the Avtomatika website, it is a holding company that develops systems and complexes designed to ensure information security.
