The Lefortovo District Court of Moscow received materials on the selection of a preventive measure for the defendant in the espionage case (Article 276 of the Criminal Code) S. Ermenko. The case file was published on the court’s website, and Mediazona drew attention to it.
The investigation intends to ask the court to take Ermenko into custody. It is unknown what became the reason for initiating a criminal case. A hearing in the case has not yet been scheduled.
Foreigners are accused of espionage. There is no information about the identity of S. Ermenko yet, but today the FSB reported on the detention of a Ukrainian citizen suspected of espionage on the territory of the self-proclaimed LPR.
According to the investigation, the detainee, acting in the interests of the Ukrainian military, since October 2022, has been transmitting information to the Ukrainian Armed Forces about the deployment of the Russian army and the People's Militia of the LPR. Under Article 276 of the Criminal Code, he faces up to 20 years in prison. It is not yet known whether the FSB message refers to Ermenko.
Earlier, the same court in Moscow sent to a pre-trial detention center Ukrainian citizen E. Ishchuk, who was detained in the LPR on espionage charges and then taken to Moscow. Security officials believe that she passed information about the local military to the Ukrainian special services.
