Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov said that at least 20 billion rubles are needed to restore housing, businesses and social facilities in the city of Shebekino after the shelling, reports . TASS
“The total amount, we have now calculated, is preliminary - five billion for the restoration of housing, ten billion for the restoration of enterprises, more than five billion for the restoration of social institutions,” Gladkov said, speaking at a meeting of the General Council of United Russia.
According to Gladkov, five apartment buildings and more than 80 private houses were completely destroyed in Shebekino, in addition, repairs are required in more than 1,200 houses and apartments. “We have begun rebuilding,” the governor said.
Gladkov also said that the authorities of the Belgorod region began to "slowly" return to Shebekino people who were previously taken out due to shelling. According to him, people who have not suffered housing are returning to the city.
“The situation in Shebekino has changed for the better. At peak tension, Shebekino took on more than 850 shells per day. Over the past week, there have been only two shellings with minor violations,” Gladkov said.
