Russia conducted exercises to isolate Runet

Roskomnadzor confirmed to the publication that the exercises were successful, but refused to answer what tasks their organizers pursued by turning off the international segment of the Internet.

One of the interlocutors in the telecommunications market recalled that the declared task of the law "On Sovereign Runet" was to maintain the efficiency of the Russian segment of the Network when it was turned off from the outside. “During the exercises, they could check whether the Runet really continues to work with such a shutdown. Body armor is tested in much the same way when they are put on mannequins and then shot,” the interlocutor says.
