In Astrakhan, an inspection of the premises by a human rights lawyer

Police in Astrakhan conducted an examination of the premises in the house of a human rights lawyer by the name of Gasanov after his picket in support of Alexei Navalny. This was announced by his acquaintance about this.

The security forces came home to Hasanov on July 6. Earlier on the same day, on the gates of the lawyer’s site, unknown people painted the letter Z. During the inspection, the security forces found Listenes of Navalny’s headquarters - the man believes that they could be thrown to him.

On the same day, after the search measures, the employees of the local Center “E” twice interviewed Hasanov. During the first lawyer, they asked about his picket on June 4 in support of Alexei Navalny and whether he knew that such actions were organized by the opposition’s headquarters recognized by extremist.

According to the assumption of the lawyer, they want to draw up a protocol on the demonstration of the symbolism of an extremist organization (Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses): in the photograph of the picket that the security forces showed him, a symbol of the FBK appeared on the poster - however, it was not initially on a banner.

At another survey, Hasanov was asked about his legal activity and why he assisted to opposition activists. In addition, the man was asked questions about his trip to Moscow to the court in the case of Ros Pusten journalists Alexander Dorogov and Yana Katelevsky.

According to the acquaintance of Gasanov, the pressure on the lawyer began in June. So, on the day of the picket, in support of Navalny, the security forces rudely detained him, which is why he had abrasions on the ribs and shoulder. Then the security forces invited him to stop human rights activities and leave Russia.

• On June 9, 2021, the Moscow City Court recognized the Corruption Fund (FBK), the Fund for the Protection of Citizens' Rights (FZPG) and the headquarters of Alexei Navalny with extremist organizations. Later, the Court of Appeal approved this decision. After that, supporters of the opposition policy began to pass from Russia massively. Navalny himself has been in prison since January 2021, he has been persecuted under several articles of the Criminal Code.
• Journalists of the Rosotravy publication Alexander Dorogov and Yan Katelevsky have been in jail since 2020. They are accused in cases of extortion on an especially large scale (paragraph “b” of part 3 of article 163 of the Criminal Code) and the insult of the official (Article 319 of the Criminal Code). Journalists associate their persecution with investigative activities against security forces and civil servants.
