Bloomberg: NATO allies ask Zelensky to 'cool down' after he accuses alliance of weakness

NATO leaders, during a dinner in Vilnius on the evening of July 11, asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to "cool off" after he called it "absurd" the reluctance to give Ukraine a clear timeline for joining NATO. This is reported by Bloomberg, citing sources.

According to the agency, during dinner, when US President Joe Biden returned to his hotel, NATO leaders offered Zelensky a look at the situation as a whole, he was promised Ukraine's likely membership in the alliance in the future, and the G7 countries said they would provide their security guarantees. By the next day, according to Bloomberg, "Zelensky seemed to get the point."

British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said on the morning of July 12 that Ukraine sometimes needs to express gratitude more actively for the help of the West. In response, Zelensky said that the Ukrainian authorities are “always grateful” and ready to “wake up in the morning and thank the minister.”
