Jane Birkin was born in 1946 in London. She began her career with filming in films, but her creative duet with Serge Gainsbourg brought her real fame. In 1969 they released the single "Je t'aime... moi non plus" which became an instant hit.

Birkin also starred in Michelangelo Antonioni's films Blow Up and Kaleidoscope, Agatha Christie's popular adaptations of Death on the Nile and Evil Under the Sun, and The Pirate by Jacques Doillon.
