The court arrested a former military psychologist in the case of justifying terrorism due to comments about Chechens fighting for Ukraine

The Perovsky District Court of Moscow arrested former military psychologist Timofey Rudenko in the case of calls for terrorism (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code). Rudenko’s defense reported this to Mediazona.

The criminal case against the man became known yesterday. According to investigators, from April 29 to May 1, 2022, Rudenko, under the name “Maimul Maimulovich,” wrote comments in the telegram channel “Crimea - the land of partisan glory” “justifying the actions of members of illegal armed groups, supporters of [Dzhokhar] Dudayev, operating in the territory Chechen Republic and those fighting in Ukraine against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.”

The user “Maimul Maimulovich,” under whose name, according to the Investigative Committee, a former military man registered in the telegram, also “called for terrorist acts, sabotage, and terrorist attacks directed against government authorities in the Russian Federation.” The texts of the messages themselves are not given in the resolution, which Mediazona has read.

Timofey Rudenko is 30 years old; several years ago he retired from service and spoke out against the war in Ukraine on VKontakte. In May 2022, they came to his home and searched it. According to the former military man, security forces tortured him with a stun gun and demanded “a confession that he was allegedly a terrorist and was preparing terrorist attacks in Moscow and Russia as a whole.” No charges were brought against him then, and after the search he was placed under administrative arrest three times.

In May 2023, Rudenko was detained at Zhukovsky airport, from where he was planning to fly to Kyrgyzstan. In a conversation with Mediazona, the ex-military recalled that the security forces again used a stun gun on him and offered to “atone for his guilt to his homeland” by joining the Wagner PMC. Since then, he has been sentenced to administrative arrest five times in a row under the article on petty hooliganism (20.1 of the Administrative Code). In similar protocols from police reports , it was stated that Rudenko swore on the street and pestered passers-by.

They also tried to prosecute the man under the article about the demonstration of Nazi symbols: during a personal search, in his notebooks they found drawings with the flag of Ukraine and the Azov detachment. Judges twice returned reports to police due to errors.
