Today, a rally of Muslims took place in the center of Moscow, dissatisfied with the fact that the security forces of the Moscow region arrange raids in mosques. Several hundred men after Friday prayer took to the streets adjacent to the oldest Moscow mosque at the Novokuznetskaya station. The audience chanted Allah Akbar [ Allah Great. - approx. Ed. ]. The territory next to the mosques was in advance of law enforcement officers in advance by fences, who demanded that the audience disperse and "do not interfere with the passage of citizens."
One of the participants in the rally, 23-year-old student of Moscow State University Abbas M. [ The name was changed at the request of the hero. - approx. Ed. ], said that the security forces selectively checked the documents from some participants in the action, but he did not see the detentions.
The call to go to the rally published the opposition telegram channel “Morning Dagestan”, which last year also organized an action in the North Caucasus against mobilization.
“Appeal to the Brothers Uzbeks, Kyrgyz, Tajiks, Turkmen and Kazakhs! Brothers! Mostly it is your peoples <...> most of all are oppressed, humiliation and persecution! <...> It is time for us to confront lawlessness in an organized manner, mainly in relation to you, as the most vulnerable! This is our protest to a sense of intolerance in relation to Muslims in this whole country! ” - Such a post was published by the Dagestan morning channel on July 18.
The discontent of Muslims was provoked by the frequent raids of the security forces in mosques in the satellite cities of Moscow. In May of this year, residents of the Kotelnikov near Moscow recorded an appeal to Putin, in which they complained about the "dominance of migrants" in their city. The day after that, law enforcement officers came to a small mosque in Kotelniki, sealed the premises and opened a criminal case against the founders of the chapel house under the article “negligence”.
In early July, the security forces staged a raid in another mosque in Kotelniki, and on July 14 - in a mosque in the city of Dzerzhinsk near Moscow.
Both times, employees broke into prayer houses right during the Friday prayer.
The right telegram channel “Russian community” wrote that the security forces were arranged due to their appeal: “The police just attended two illegal mosques arranged right in residential buildings at the request of the Russian community. "Accepted" more than 70 people. We are waiting for deportations. "
Moscow State University Abbas M., who was on that day in the mosque in Dzerzhinsk, said that the employees checked the documents of the parishioners, harshly delayed some of them, went on the mosque in “dirty shoes” (while the custom requires all visitors, regardless of religion, to remove shoes at the entrance), swearing and ignored requests to check the documents upon completion Prayers.
In the video that parishioners were shot during the raid in Dzerzhinsk, you can really hear how they ask the security forces to wait until the prayer ends, to which one of the employees replies to them: "You wash their legs in the sink, which is designed to wash the face."
The parishioners of the mosque recorded a video message to Vladimir Putin demanding to check the actions of the security forces.
“According to police officers, this is done in order to identify illegal stay in the Russian Federation of illegal migrants. However, it is unclear why these actions are performed precisely at the time of Friday prayers. We are against violation of laws, including illegal stay of us individuals. Checks can be carried out before or after prayer. We will continue to conduct Friday prayers, despite the possibility of next checks, ”Rushan Abbyasov commented on the events of the Moscow Region.
The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, called the actions of the security forces “gang -bay”, and the head of Dagestan Sergey Melikov condemned them for “incontinence”.
