The FSB announced the discovery of traces of explosives on another ship that was heading from Turkey to Russia. He was denied passage through the Kerch Strait This was reported by the Interfax agency.
“In the course of work to prevent terrorist and sabotage actions, to ensure the safety of navigation, the FSB of Russia revealed another foreign civilian vessel that could previously be used to deliver explosives to the territory of Ukraine,” the intelligence service said in a statement.
They specified that traces of explosives were found on July 26 in the hold and on the surface of the lifeboat of the foreign dry cargo ship VMO RIVER. The ship sailed from the Turkish port of Sinop through the Kerch Strait to the port of Rostov-on-Don.
According to the FSB, in June and July the ship called at the Ukrainian seaport of Reni in the Odessa region twice.
Earlier, the FSB said that on July 22 it found traces of explosives in the hold of another dry cargo ship, which was also en route from Turkey to Rostov-on-Don to load grain crops.
“These circumstances may indicate the possibility of using a foreign civilian vessel to deliver explosives to the territory of Ukraine,” the intelligence service said at the time.
