The calls to transfer the country's life into the “popular war” mode have been intensified since last summer. Initially, this was a reaction to a contradictory picture of peaceful life on the most part of Russia and difficult trials that fell on the army and the population of Donbass. At first, indignation was in full swing on the blogs of supporters of the special operation. Gradually, the main theses - the unity of the front and the rear, criticism of the errors of supply and corruption - migrated to the vocabulary of some official commentators and even politicians.
I have no doubt that this is not a state initiative. The main sources where activity in favor of the "popular war" is generated are characters with a complex of Savonarola. But as you plunge into the context, you suddenly understand that the farther the people is, the closer to the cabinets of the authorities, the less words about universal unity, about the importance of a personal example. Patriotism - love for the house, nationalism - jealousy for a neighbor. Our bureaucracy is not capable of sacrificial love, self -interest is its polar star.
Meeting the requirements of citizens to stop the bacchanalia of luxury on Instagram*, return children from Western universities, wives from resorts, send sons and grandchildren to the front, “like everyone else” (in the understanding of the masses these are elements of the “popular war”), the elites are ready in response only to pay off. They pay for the local initiative, but their tastes do not rise above wretched imitations. From the authorities there is a stream of unstressed paintings, Virschs of Z-poets, "Unarmia", kindergarten in khaki, and at the school-textbooks of the latest certified version of Russian history.

The main task of the authorities at this stage is to convince the voter that everything in Russia is still. Nationalists in Russian social networks with triumph are posting a video with endless Ukrainian military cemeteries. But the purpose of these videos is to rally people with common sacrifices. In Russia, this phenomenon is also known: this is how the fraternal cemetery ralves - the famous Russian military burial in Sevastopol. For the Ukrainian authorities, is this a political move for the distant future, but how, in the case of victory, the Russian government is going to manage regions, where yellow-blue flags and the names of the Brigades of the Armed Forces are everywhere at the graves?
All this speaks of the fears of the ruling layer of Russia. By uniting the zealots of the “popular war”, one can get an active and demanding political majority, which, the Lord, will decide to move on to questions about the origin of the power and wealth of the elites themselves. Therefore, the government and administrations at all levels are given more and more attention to working with veterans. Almost all of them are so far at the front, and there are no great supporters of the idea of the “popular war”.
Dugin: “It is clear that the elites have a significant layer of hidden enemies ... But the hour of history is now the hour of the patriot.” This inflamed mind gives the desired one. No one will fight the "hidden layer." Enemies are opposition. The political and physical elimination of opponents of military operations gives the authorities and readers as an element of the “folk war”.
