A case of incitement to terrorism was opened against a Samara resident arrested in a treason case.

In Samara, a new criminal case was opened against 24-year-old Polina Yevtushenko, who was arrested in the case of preparing for treason, under the article on calls for extremism (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code). ASTRA reports this.

According to the telegram channel, a new case was opened against the girl because of publications supporting the “Freedom of Russia” legion, which is fighting on the side of Ukraine.

As the Samara District Court reported , a case of preparation for high treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code with the application of Part 1 of Article 30 of the Criminal Code) was opened against Yevtushenko due to the inducement of a local resident to join the “Freedom of Russia” legion to participate in the war on the side of Ukraine .

On July 13, the court sent Yevtushenko under arrest for two months, until September 11.

SOTA noted that the girl has anti-war views and may have tried to join the “Freedom of Russia” legion through a network of bots operating in Russia, which is most likely connected with Russian intelligence services.

• After the start of the war in Ukraine, the Russian authorities began to react sharply to protest sentiments. The list of articles under which those who oppose the war are prosecuted is quite wide. Those involved in “anti-war cases” are often charged with hooliganism, vandalism, violence against government officials, and other violations. A significant element of pressure was also the articles introduced into the Criminal Code after the outbreak of hostilities - the spread of “fakes” about the Russian army and discrediting the armed forces.
