An explosion occurred at an oil refinery in Samara

An explosion occurred on the territory of the Kuibyshev oil refinery in Samara. This was announced by State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein. According to the preliminary version, an explosive device was planted there, he wrote. There were no casualties or “serious” damage from the explosion, Khinshtein added.

Telegram channel "112" calls the incident "sabotage". According to the channel, the explosion was arranged by 42-year-old Sergei O., who worked at the enterprise as an electrician. "112" writes that the man fled the scene in a car, after which he was detained at the border with Kazakhstan.

The website of the Kuibyshev Refinery says that this is one of the largest enterprises in the oil industry in the Samara region. Since 2007, the plant has been part of the structure of Rosneft.
