The armed forces of Ukraine are firing at Russian positions with rockets made in North Korea. It is reported by The Financial Times. Ammunition from the DPRK was shown to journalists by the military, firing from the Soviet Grad multiple launch rocket systems near Bakhmut.

A Ukrainian artillery commander named Ruslan told The Financial Times that his troops frown on the use of North Korean projectiles because they often misfire or fail to explode. Judging by the markings, most of them were produced in the 1980s and 1990s.

Another soldier asked the FT reporter not to get too close to the rocket launcher because North Korean projectiles are "very unreliable and sometimes do crazy things." However, the Ukrainian army continues to use them because they "need every missile they can get," Ruslan said.

The Ukrainian military said that the DPRK ammunition was seized from a certain ship by a “friendly country”. The Ukrainian Defense Ministry suggested that the missiles from North Korea were taken from Russian soldiers. “We are capturing their tanks, their equipment, and it is possible that this is also the result of a successful military operation by the Ukrainian army,” said Yuriy Sak, adviser to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

The version that the DPRK directly supplies Ukraine with ammunition is unlikely, since Pyongyang supports Moscow, writes The Financial Times.
