Many Reddy is one of the most cruel criminals of India. At least 18 women became his victims, although only nine episodes managed to prove in court. In the late 1990s, residents of several cities of India, where Reddi committed crimes, were so scared that they were afraid to go out. Reddi was arrested several times, and each time he managed to deceive the overseers and flee. And when he was finally caught, he was able to avoid the most important punishment - the death penalty.

On February 28, 1998, a seven -year -old Suresh from Bangalore returned from school and went to play outside. Usually, after a walk, it was already on the threshold by his mother-37-year-old nurse Jayashri Marady Subbay. But on this day, no one was waiting for Suresh, and the front door of the house was locked.
Suresh knocked for several minutes before he was finally discovered by an unfamiliar man. Entering inside, he saw that his mother was lying in the blood tied to a window bars, and burst into tears. The stranger introduced himself as a friend of Maradi and explained that he tied her to the window, because an evil spirit had a sorted into her. The man said that he was going to call a doctor and left. Suresh spent several hours in the next room, not suspecting that his mother was dead. Only when he told the neighbors about the visit of the stranger, did they realize what happened and called the police.
Suresh will again see this person after six and a half years - in court. They will turn out to be a serial maniac named Malash Reddy, who killed and raped his mother. The investigation claimed that in addition to Maradi, at least 17 women became its victims.
Male Reddy was born in May 1973 in the farm village of Basappanamalidge. The Reddi family lived in beggars and this did not differ from other villagers. His mother was a friendly and sociable woman, but his father often drank and beat Mad. The boy grew up and began to steal at school: first books, pencils and pens, and then - neighboring goats and peanuts. Soon, the inhabitants of the village took up arms against Malos, and he had to leave.
In 1996, he entered the service in the Indian gendarmerie and was sent to Jamma and Kashmir. There he made his first attack - he tried to rape the daughter of the commandant, whose house was assigned to guard. When it became known about this, Reddy escaped from Kashmir and returned to his native staff of Karnatak. There he managed to get a job in the district police: the state authorities did not know anything about the incident and without problems took Reddi to the service.
Soon Reddy attacked the civil servant from Chitradurg Dive. He met her on a deserted path near the bus stop, tried to rape her and took the jewelry.
A month later, Reddy attacked a 16-year-old student named Pallavi. In the evening, she went to the flour mill, but never returned home. Her family searched the entire area, but only a day later turned to the police. According to Ajap, a former district inspector investigating the Pallavi case, family members first thought that she simply escaped with the guy, like many girls in the district.
The body of Pallavi was found two days later. In an interview with journalists, Adzhapa said that all her clothes were lying separately, later it was confirmed that Pallawy was raped. It was not possible to quickly find a criminal, public discontent grew every day, the inhabitants reached protests against the inaction of the police. One of the police officers who followed the order at these rallies was the killer himself - Many Reddi.
A month and a half later, the police found out that two days before the murder of Pallavi, not far from the crime scene, they attacked the minor daughter of the thrush Gita. She worked in the store and, returning home, noticed that she was pursued by a man in a cap. Gita tried to run away, but he caught up with her, grabbed her throat, tumbled to the ground and began to strangle. When Gita fought off the attacker, she tore off his cap and noticed that he was trimmed like a policeman. A few minutes later my father ran to Gita - he constantly met her from work and escorted her home. He threw several stones at the attacker, one of which fell into his head. At that moment, the girl was able to push him away, and he ran away. Gita's family did not go to the police: they were afraid of problems - the girl suspected that the attacker himself was a police officer.
After the attack, Gita entered the home guard (in small cities and villages she replaced the police). A month after the incident, she participated in the rehearsal of the parade in honor of the Day of the Republic. There, among the police officers who were preparing the stadium for the procession, she recognized Reddi. Gita immediately told law enforcement officers that she had found a criminal. As a result, the mind was arrested and fired from work.
Even before the capture of Reddi, investigators suspected that the person who attacked Gita was involved in Palavi's death. During the search, Reddi found a suitcase with women's underwear, but did not find evidence that would prove his guilt in the murder. In relation to him, a case was brought under an article on the “attempt on the honor of a woman” and released on bail. Malosh immediately left Chitradurg and went to the neighboring city of Bangalor.
Reddi continued to kill, despite the fact that he almost went to jail. During the service in the police, he studied the system of law enforcement agencies well and carefully planned his crimes. He attacked women from 11 a.m. to three in the afternoon, when most of the men were at work.
Choosing the victim, Reddy knocked on her house to ask for water or ask for the road. After he managed to get into the apartment, there was practically no chance of salvation for women: Many was threatened with a knife, raped, and then killed. He took the decorations of the victims and kept them at home as trophies.
Some still managed to escape. In the village of Hulimav, Reddy broke into the house to a woman and tried to rob her. She was able to fight back and run out of the house, and the neighbors who heard the screams caught on the street. They tied him to the pillar and handed over to the police.
During the interrogation, Malosh told where he lives, but at the same time introduced himself not his name. And again during the search, the police found women's linen and jewelry. Reddi admitted that he stole all these things, and also that he puts on linen at night and masturbates.
In the site, Mail recognized another victim. Then, under the pressure of the police, he confessed to several more attacks and thefts. But for a long time, the mind did not stay in conclusion. When the investigators transported him to the crimes so that he testified, Reddi complained about poor health and asked for the toilet. The police dropped him at the eucalyptus grove, and Manya immediately took advantage of the chance and fled.
A month later, the police found Reddi in the backyard of his house, where he was hiding all this time. When he was brought to the court of Chitradurgi, thousands of people gathered at the building. They asked not to pronounce the verdict and instead give Reddi to them for a lynching. To ensure his safety, the police decided to transfer Reddi to a maximum security prison, which was in the neighboring city of Bellari.
The detectives who worked on the Examine affair said that he was very smart and immediately tried to think about how to rub the confidence in the escort, depicting an innocent and painful person. Before leaving for Bellari, he pretended to break an ankle and asked for his leg. Along the way, he again asked for a toilet. The police believed that he would not be able to leave with a sore leg. But Malosh escaped as soon as he waited when his accompanying person was distracted.
The Bangalore police strengthened security measures and put Reddi on the wanted list. For several months he was on the run and moved from city to city. In each city, he settled for utility work, raped women, stole money, and then moved. In the Barrier, Reddy even managed to rob the house of the local shah and hide his car.
Six months after the escape, he returned to Bangalor again and settled in the Pigna area. It was there that he killed the mother of the seven -year -old Suresh, Jayashri Marady Subbay. This crime was the most terrible in the history of the whole district.
“I served in the police for 38 years, but I have never seen anything more tough,” Anjana, a former deputy chief of the police who investigated this case, later told reporters.
Two days after the murder of Maradi Reddy, he attacked a pregnant woman. As usual, he knocked on her to ask for the road. When the door opened, Many put the knife to her throat, but she was able to break out and hit him on the head of the pots. And again, the neighbors who came running to the screams passed the Malo Police.
The hearing in the Mail Reddi case lasted four years and took place in different ships of Bangalore and Chitradurgi, so he was constantly transported from one prison to another. In March 2002, Reddi came up with a plan of the next escape. Before traveling to another city, Reddi convinced the police that he had a temperature and he could hardly walk. When the guard stopped for lunch, he convinced him to let him go to the toilet, complaining of pain in his stomach. So he managed to run away for the fifth and last time.
After on television, the news was shown that Reddi was again free, Bangalor covered a wave of panic and fear. Journalists called him a monster and psychopath, the girls were afraid to go out, bars appeared on the windows of local residents.
The police finally managed to catch him only two months later: during this time he committed three more rape and several thefts.

On Friday morning, on May 17, 2002, passing near the Gayatri Temple in Yeshvantpur, the driver of Motoriksha recognized the photograph in the crowd, whose photograph had recently seen in one of the newspapers. It was Reddi. He walked towards the hairdresser.
The driver called his brother and asked to bring the police from the site opposite. He himself continued to watch Reddi to tell the police about where he would go. After some time, the killer left the hairdresser and went towards the railway station - the police were already waiting for him there.
Initially, Reddi was accused of attacking 18 women, but only nine crimes managed to prove involvement. In terms of affairs, he was justified. For example, in the case of Gita, the judge decided that since the girl was saved, her honor was not injured, which means there was no crime. Some victims refused to testify due to fear of public humiliation. The prosecution failed to prove that Pallavi killed the mind.
October 26, 2006, 10 years after his first murder, Malia Reddi was sentenced to death. He asked to cancel the verdict so that he could take care of an aging mother, but the court did not consider this a softening circumstance and left the decision in force.
Since it was about the death penalty, the final sentence was to consider the high court. A year later, the college of the High Court of Karnatak also condemned Reddi, but the judges dispersed against the death sentence. He tried several times to appeal the verdict and even wrote a petition for pardon to the President of India, but was refused. The case was considered several more times - in 2009, 2011 and in 2021 - but the decision remained unchanged. It was possible to achieve the mitigation of the sentence only in November 2022 - the death penalty was replaced by a lifelong opinion with the right to ask for early release after 30 years.
