In the Czech Republic, the accounts of billionaire Vladimir Yevtushenkov were blocked and the property was seized.

The Czech authorities blocked the accounts of the companies of Russian billionaire Vladimir Yevtushenkov, and also arrested his property in the country. This is reported by Czech Television.

The publication notes that Yevtushenkov's five-star Savoy Westend hotel in Karlovy Vary was also under arrest. Now it works in a limited mode: only those who paid for their accommodation before the end of June can enter there. According to Czech Television, Russian politicians, artists and businessmen used to go to this hotel, some of them are now on the sanctions list. Now hotel employees may lose their jobs, the newspaper writes.

Czech authorities seized Yevtushenkov's property for a total of 100 million crowns ($4.6 million). Czech Television notes that the total value of the Russian billionaire's property in Karlovy Vary is 500 million crowns ($23 million).

Vladimir Evtushenkov is the founder and co-owner of AFK Sistema. Forbes estimates his fortune at $1.7 billion. He and his son Felix came under Czech sanctions at the end of June 2023. Local authorities explained this by the fact that AFK Sistema is involved in the production of drones and the development of equipment for the Russian defense industry. Vladimir Yevtushenkov is also on the sanctions lists of Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand and Ukraine.
