Eight people died due to hurricane in Mari El

As a result of the hurricane that took place on July 29, eight people died in Mari El. This was announced by the mayor of Yoshkar-Ola Yevgeny Maslov. According to him, another 10 people were hospitalized, two of them in serious condition.

The head of Mari El, Yuri Zaitsev , said that three children were among the dead. At the time of its publication, six deaths were known. According to Zaitsev, people died in a tent camp on the territory of a wild beach.

According to TASS , most of the victims were near Lake Yalchik. A tree fell down from a strong wind.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that due to the hurricane, 76 people were injured throughout the Volga Federal District, nine died. Power supply was interrupted in 520 settlements.

Later, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported 10 deaths as a result of a hurricane in the Volga region.
