The Republican Department of the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on the fact that the management of the Mari Chodra National Park provided services that did not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers, who through negligence caused the death of two or more persons (Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code). The department’s website clarifies that seven dead were found near the Maly Yalchik and Bolshoy Yalchik lakes, and one more person died in the hospital.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations said that eight regions of the Volga Federal District were affected by the hurricane: there were power outages in 520 settlements, 41 residential buildings had damaged roofs.
