Yevgeny Prigozhin said that he was suspending the recruitment of mercenaries into the ranks of the Wagner PMC and “determining the following tasks that will be carried out in the name of the greatness of Russia.” The corresponding audio message was published by the Wagner Orchestra telegram channel.
“As long as we do not experience a shortage of personnel, we do not plan to carry out new recruitment. However, we will be extremely grateful to you if you stay in touch with us and, as soon as the homeland needs to create a new group that can protect the interests of our country, we will certainly start recruiting,” Prigozhin said.
According to him, mercenaries “continue their activities in Africa,” as well as in training centers in Belarus. At the same time, Prigozhin said that many PMC soldiers are now on vacation.
“Neither I nor the council of commanders put any restrictions on the transfer of our former combat comrades and current ones to other power structures of the Russian Federation. Unfortunately, few agreed to transfer from Wagner PMC. Long years of hard work, long years of war shoulder to shoulder with our comrades in arms have made us one team, and therefore our comrades in arms are striving to return to Wagner PMC,” Prigozhin added.
