American singer Lizzo responded to allegations of harassment and fat-shaming brought against her by her former dancers. She published a post on her Instagram.

“I don’t usually respond to false accusations, but in this situation they are too incredible and outrageous to ignore,” the singer said. Lizzo wrote that the allegations come from her former employees "who have already publicly acknowledged that their behavior during the tour was inappropriate and unprofessional."

“As an artist, I have always been very passionate about what I do. I take my music and my performances seriously. […] Sometimes I have to make difficult decisions, but I never make my employees feel uncomfortable or like they are not valued as an important part of the team,” the post reads.

“I am not the villain that the media has made me out to be in recent days. I'm very open about my sexuality and self-expression, but I can't let people use that openness to make me out to be someone I'm not. […] I know what it’s like to be body shamed every day, and I would never criticize or fire an employee because of their weight,” Lizzo wrote.

Previously, three former dancers who collaborated with the singer filed a lawsuit against her in Los Angeles Superior Court. They accused Lizzo of criticizing their weight, forcing them to touch naked performers in an Amsterdam strip club and eat bananas from their vaginas.
