“Tonight, the Ukrainian armed forces attempted to attack the Novorossiysk naval base with two unmanned naval boats. While repelling the attack, unmanned boats were visually detected and destroyed by fire from the standard weapons of Russian ships guarding the outer roadstead of the naval base,” the department said in a statement.

Information about the attack was also confirmed by the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratyev. According to him, there were no casualties or destruction. In addition, residents of Novorossiysk reported night explosions in the port .

In turn, the mayor of the city, Andrei Kravchenko, clarified that the crews of the ships “Olenegorsky Miner” and “Suvorovets” “reacted and helped avoid the consequences of the attack” of sea drones. Kravchenko also said that there is now a temporary ban on ship traffic in the port of Novorossiysk.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, annexed Crimea was also attacked by aerial drones at night. “Ten UAVs were destroyed by air defense systems on duty. Three more enemy drones were suppressed by electronic warfare,” the department reported .
