The co-founder of the largest Russian IT company "Yandex" Arkady Volozh in a biography published on his personal website called himself "an Israeli entrepreneur born in Kazakhstan" and never mentioned that he lived and led a business in Russia for a long time. Attention to this was paid by users of social networks.

According to the "agency" , they also try to delete the mention of Russia from the English -language version of Volozh’s biography "on Wikipedia - the so -called war of the answer began the day before and continues on Monday.

"Arkady Volozh is an Israeli technical entrepreneur born in Kazakhstan, a scientist-computer, an investor and philanthropist ... Since 2015, Volozh has been living in Israel, engaged in the main development and study of new technologies," the biography published on Volozh.com said.

Volozh was born in the city of Guryev of the Kazakh SSR (now Atyrau, Kazakhstan). He lived in Moscow since the 1980s, in 1997 he became one of the co-founders of Yandex. Back in 2017, in connection with the 20th anniversary of Yandex, he met in Moscow with Vladimir Putin.
He left all the posts in Yandex only in 2022 after, due to the Russian large -scale invasion of Ukraine, he was included in the sanctions list. On December 30, 2022, Volozh announced to employees about final departure from the company. Publicly he did not speak about the war in Ukraine.
