More than in the USSR: in the Russian Federation, one thing is initiated by stateisms per day

In 2023, more criminal cases of state reception will be instituted in Russia than in the previous 20 years - the publication "Kholod" came to this conclusion, having studied the statistics of such cases over the past seven months.

According to the publication, from January to July 2023, at least 82 cases of Stateizer were instituted in Russia - these are only those that can be found in open sources. Throughout 2022, only 20 such cases were instituted. The article emphasizes that the real number of criminal cases can be significantly large, since the FSB reports not about all such cases.

The publication notes that for the last time such a number of cases under an article on Gosizmen was excited only during the reign of Joseph Stalin. Even in the USSR, after his death, such cases were on average less than in today's Russia.

The large material of the "cold" is devoted to the analysis of a sharp surge in the number of cases on charges of Gosizman. The publication notes that "if earlier at risk were employees of defense enterprises, military and scientists who have access to state secrets, now they can accuse literally everyone," and even likes in social networks can be the cause of the case. At the same time, it is often almost impossible to find out the details of the accusations - almost all such cases are classified.

"Cold" gives several examples of the cases of state receptions aroused against residents of Russia who were not scientists, defense enterprises or political activists. Among them, 24-year-old Polina Yevtushenko from Togliatti, the case against which was filed, apparently, for the publication on Instagram instructions for surrender.

More than in the USSR

From 1997 to 2017, according to the “First Department”, in Russia, sentences were issued in 101 cases of stateisms - that is, it was about five cases a year.

"Cold" also notes that if earlier 90% of the cases were in Moscow, after a full -scale invasion of Ukraine, cases of state reception and espionage began to arise much more often in other regions, including Ukrainian territories, which Russia announced about the annexation. According to lawyer Yevgeny Smirnov, now approximately 20 criminal cases of state recording per month are initiated in the country, that is, in one case per day. In the 1960s, the USSR authorities launched about 150 criminal cases of Gosizman per year.

The cases of stateizmen are initiated not only for the alleged disclosure of state secrets or cooperation with foreign intelligence, but also for the "transition to the side of the enemy", as a rule, we are talking about the investigation in the actions of the suspects to go to Ukraine and take part in the war on the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The lawyers of the “first department” recently had a lot of evidence that the detainees are tortured in order to achieve confessions.

22 accusatory sentences, 0 acquittals

According to the calculations of Kholoda, from January 1 to July 31, 2023, the media reported at least 22 sentences of state reception cases, they were all prosecutors. Only last week, Radio Liberty reported three sentences under this article.

The average sentence is 11 and a half years of a maximum security colony. There are longer deadlines, in particular the opposition Vladimir Kara-Murza in the case of the Stateizer and several other accusations were sentenced to 25 years.
