The administration of the Pionersky city district in the Kaliningrad region refused to coordinate a rally against the inaction of the authorities on problematic issues, for the removal of the city mayor, and also in support of Putin’s statement. This was reported in the telegram chat “Voice of Pionersky”. The publication was noticed by the publication “7×7”.
The action was planned to be held on August 19 in the city park. As the goals of the event, the organizers indicated “the free expression of support by residents of the Pionersky urban district of V.V. Putin’s thesis at a meeting of the Council for the Development of Local Self-Government that improving the well-being and quality of life of citizens is the basic priority of the authorities.”
In addition, the participants of the action were going to express their position on problematic issues of city management and ineffective decisions made by the authorities, express dissatisfaction with the work of the head of the administration of the Pionersky urban district and demand his resignation.
In their refusal, the city authorities wrote that the event could not be approved, since on August 2 the mayor’s office issued permission to place Luna Park on the territory of the city park for a month.
“It is significant that the pretext for the refusal was the rusty and unsafe attractions of the old Czech amusement park, which the mayor hastily brought to the city to occupy an area in the central city park,” wrote the authors of the publication about the refusal of approval.
The administration eventually proposed holding the rally after September 2. It is unknown whether the organizers intend to submit notice after this date.
The publication 7x7 previously reported that officials introduced one-way traffic on 14 streets in Pionersky. Local residents and Kaliningraders then launched a petition to cancel this decision, and also gathered to hold a referendum on this and other issues.
