The Prosecutor General's Office recognized the Conflict Intelligence Team (Network Association of Investigative Journalists) as an “undesirable” organization. This is reported on the department's website.

“The electronic platform, which was originally called War in Ukraine, was created by Russian citizen Ruslan Karpuk, who is hiding abroad from criminal prosecution, together with members of the banned extremist organization FBK, who are residents of foreign countries and also living abroad,” the message says.

The Prosecutor General's Office calls the investigators “pseudo-journalists,” and their main goal, according to the department, “is the collection and publication of information about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, including personal data of Russian military personnel, which will be used in the future to discredit.”

Conflict Intelligence Team (CIT) is an independent group of journalists who, using open sources, collect information about the actions of the Russian military during armed conflicts. It was formed in 2014. Since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, CIT has been publishing daily reports on the situation at the front.

Soon after the start of the war in Ukraine, a criminal case was opened against the founder of CIT Ruslan Leviev (real name Karpuk), and in May 2022, the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested him in absentia . In addition, during the meeting it became clear that a criminal case had also been opened against journalist and blogger Michael Naki.
