Judge Maria Smirnova of the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow fined journalist Ilya Varlamov 30 thousand rubles, a Mediazona correspondent reports.
Varlamov was found guilty under Part 4 of Article 19.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (failure to be marked as a “foreign agent”). The reason for drawing up the protocol was the telegram posts. Representative of Roskomnadzor Asiya Matyunina at the meeting supported the arguments of the protocol on the violation - Varlamov posted posts on telegram without indicating the status of a “foreign agent.” Screenshots of the posts were shared on May 29.
Varlamov's defense representative was not present at the hearing; the court refused to postpone the hearing due to his vacation.
