In Volgograd, the wife of a military man who had gone to the front left the baby for several days without food or water; the child died, the woman was arrested

The Krasnooktyabrsky District Court of Volgograd sent 24-year-old Ekaterina A., accused of killing a baby (clause “c” of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code), to a pre-trial detention center, the press service of the regional courts reported in the telegram channel.

As stated on the website of the Volgograd department of the Investigative Committee, on August 3, Ekaterina A. left her nine-month-old child alone in the apartment without food or water. A few days later, on August 7, the grandmother found the baby dead.

The press service of the courts publishes a video where a woman sitting in a cage answers questions from journalists. In particular, Ekaterina A. reported that her husband is a contract soldier. When asked by the journalist whether she had somehow analyzed the situation with the baby, the woman replied: “It’s just that he (husband - MZ) left, and there was no help for me.” The journalist asked if Catherine felt abandoned because of this, she nodded.
