The Prosecutor General’s Office recognized the “unwanted” conflict intelligence Team

The Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia recognized the “unwanted organization” of Conflict Intelligence Team - “Network Association of Directors' Journalists”. This was reported in the telegram channel of the department.

According to the prosecutor's office, the goal of CIT is the collection of information about the Russian army, including specific military, which is then used "for discrediting."

The release of the department also separately indicates that CIT was created by the blogger and programmer Ruslan Leviev (Karpuk) together with "participants in the prohibited extremist organization" FBK ".

Ruslan Leviev created Conflict Intelligence Team in 2014, she is investigating military conflicts in open sources.

The founder of the project, together with journalist Michael Naki, daily publishes news reports about the war in Ukraine. On March 5, 2022, a few days after the start of the Russian war against Ukraine, Leviev said that CIT closed the office in Moscow and its employees left the country in full force in order to be able to continue work and "record every course of the war, since in the future it will be useful for the court."

In Russia, two criminal cases have been instituted against Leviev - both under the article on "fakes" about the army. The journalist is arrested in absentia.

• The law on "undesirable organizations" in Russia was adopted in 2015. The recognition of the organization "undesirable" means that any of its activities in Russia is prohibited, and cooperation with it can lead to initiation of a criminal case and punishment in the form of imprisonment. Many international organizations and several Russian media are recognized as “undesirable” in Russia - Rain, New Gazeta Europe, Project and others.
