The Pervomaisky District Court of Vladivostok sentenced former candidate for governor of Primorye Andrei Ishchenko to six years in a general regime colony and a fine of 400 thousand rubles in a fraud case (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code). this . reports TASS

According to investigators , Ishchenko promised shareholders to build an apartment building in Vladivostok, but the facility was never put into operation. The investigation estimated the damage to shareholders at 380 million rubles. In the summer of 2023, another case was also brought against the politician - abuse of official powers (Part 1 of Article 201 of the Criminal Code). It will begin to be considered in September.

Andrey Ishchenko participated in the elections for governor of the Primorsky Territory from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation in 2018. He entered the second round together with the acting head of the region, United Russia member Andrei Tarasenko. After counting 95% of the votes, Ishchenko was in the lead, but after processing the remaining 5%, Tarasenko won.

As a result, the results of the second round were canceled due to fraud. After this, Putin appointed the acting governor of Primorye Oleg Kozhemyako, who at that time served as the head of Sakhalin.
