Latvia strengthens the protection of the border with Belarus

The State Border Service of Latvia announced additional mobilization of forces to protect the border with Belarus. The decision was made in connection with the "fast -growing hybrid threat."

Latvian Prime Minister Krosheanis Carins noted that these are “proactive actions” sending a clear signal to Latvian society and the Belarusian authorities that “there will be no jokes”.

The country's Ministry of Defense reported that the Minister of Defense Inar Murnytsa had already instructed to send additional forces to strengthen the security on the Latvian-Belarusian border. In addition, from September 5 to October 2, comprehensive national defense exercises will be held throughout Latvia, in which more than 8,500 Latvian soldiers and military allied armed forces will take part.

Against the backdrop of the deployment of the mercenaries of the Wagner PMC in Belarus, after an unsuccessful rebellion in Russia, the strengthening of forces on the border with Belarus was announced in Poland. The Minister of Defense of Poland said that the final number of military personnel on the border with Belarus will soon be 10,000. 4000 will directly strengthen the border guard, and 6000 will be in reserve.

The occupation of the organization is indicated as educational.
