Russian colleges will begin training drone operators. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Education, Sergei Kravtsov, speaking at a plenary meeting of the Moscow Urban Forum.
He said that recently the department approved a list of 5,110 professions, positions and employees for which vocational training is carried out. “More than 250 in-demand professions have emerged, in particular, operator of unmanned aircraft systems with a maximum take-off weight of 30 kilograms or less,” he said.
In June, the Russian Government approved the development strategy for unmanned aviation in Russia until 2030. It envisages the emergence of a new economic sector related to the creation and use of civilian drones over the next six and a half years.
Earlier, the authorities of the Kurgan region announced the start of training for drone operators . Governor Vadim Shumkov came up with such an initiative there. As reported, Kurgan Technological College will be the first to begin training students in this specialty.
In July, it became known that in Tatarstan, several hundred students from the Alabuga Polytech College in Tatarstan were involved in the assembly of Iranian Shahed drones. As journalists from the publication “Protocol” and the YouTube channel “RZVRT” wrote , teenagers aged 15-17 who entered college after the ninth grade of school were forced to participate in the work.
