Alexey Moskalev, sentenced to two years in prison under the article on repeated discrediting of the army (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code), was transferred to IK-6 in Novomoskovsk (Tula region). He reported this in a letter to his lawyer from OVD-Info, Vladimir Bilienko.
In the letter, Moskalev asked how his daughter Masha was doing - her health and plans before September 1, and also noted that he was worried about everyone who took part in his story.
Moskalev’s family came to the attention of the security forces after his daughter Masha drew an anti-war drawing in an art lesson. First, the girl was taken to the police, and in December 2022, a criminal case was opened against her father . In March, he was placed under house arrest, and Masha was placed in a rehabilitation center : the Commission on Juvenile Affairs argued that under house arrest, her father would not be able to exercise parental control. Officials also demanded that Masha’s father and mother have parental rights limited, but on March 21 the court dismissed the case. Masha herself is now with her mother, who has not communicated with her for more than seven years and lived with her family near Tambov.
On March 28, the man was sentenced to two years in prison under the article on repeated discrediting the army (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code) due to posts on Odnoklassniki.
On April 12, it became known that Moskalev, who escaped from house arrest on March 27, was extradited to Russia from Belarus. The man said that during his detention in Minsk on March 30, security forces severely beat him with their hands and feet on his chest and back, knocked out a muscle in his right leg, and also struck him several times on the head.
In July, the sentence was tightened , prohibiting Moskalev from administering Internet resources for two years.
