Canada has imposed sanctions against the Moscow City Court, as well as the Basmanny and Khamovnichesky district courts of the capital. This was reported on the website of the country's government.
The release said these courts were “directly involved in violations of the rights of Russian opposition leaders, including Vladimir Kara-Murza, Alexei Navalny and other Russian citizens.”
15 Russian citizens were also subject to restrictions, but their names were not specified in the message.
The day before, on August 17, the US Treasury imposed sanctions against FSB officers Alexei Alexandrov, Konstantin Kudryavtsev, Ivan Osipov and Vladimir Panyaev, suspected of poisoning oppositionist Alexei Navalny.
