The Insider publication, the Sitting Rus' Foundation and its head Olga Romanova were fined due to the lack of a “foreign agent” sign in their publications

The Tagansky District Court of Moscow fined the publication The Insider , the “Charity Fund for Assistance to Convicts and Their Families” and its founder Olga Romanova due to violation of the procedure for the activities of a “foreign agent”. The Insider was fined 400 thousand rubles, Romanova's foundation - 350 thousand rubles, and she herself - 100 thousand rubles. The punishments were imposed as part of administrative cases regarding the absence of “foreign agent” markings in publications (Part 4 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code).

It is not known what specific materials caused the fines. The hearings on the cases of the fund for helping convicts and Romanova took place on August 16, The Insider was fined today. The drawing up of administrative protocols became known on August 2.

The “Charity Fund for Assistance to Convicts and Their Families” was created in 2015 on the basis of Romanova’s “Rus Sitting” movement. As stated on the foundation’s website, the organization helps prisoners and those released from colonies, and also promotes the creation of infrastructure to prevent relapse.
