The Leninsky District Court of Rostov-on-Don dismissed the case of ex-deputy head of the city administration Sergei Kuznetsov due to the expiration of the statute of limitations. this TASS reports with reference to the press service of the court.
Kuznetsov was accused of negligence (Part 2 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, in June 2016, the official, knowing about the upcoming heavy rain, did not take measures to prevent an emergency in Rostov-on-Don. It later became known that due to the rain, a 14-year-old girl drowned in the flow of water, another teenager was injured due to broken wires, and a man trapped in a car was poisoned by carbon monoxide.
On the day of the tragedy, Kuznetsov, as writes 1rnd , was acting as head of the mayor’s office during the absence of city mayor Sergei Gorban. According to security officials, after the incident, the official falsified the protocol of the emergency prevention commission and the report on the work done to eliminate the consequences. Kuznetsov himself denied accusations of forgery of documents.
