Schoolchildren will be taught to shoot live ammunition

The school curriculum for basic military training for grades 10-11 included shooting from firearms with live ammunition. This is stated in the work program of the course, which was developed by order of the Ministry of Education by the Institute for Educational Development Strategy, they write “Important Stories”.

It is planned to issue military small-caliber ammunition for firearms at equipped shooting ranges and shooting ranges. The process will reportedly be controlled by “experienced military officers or instructors.”

In addition, according to the document, schoolchildren will be taught how to dig trenches for prone shooting, throw grenades and classify nuclear explosions.

The program lasts 35 hours and in addition to the practical part, there is a theoretical part. Military personnel will talk with schoolchildren, they will be taken on excursions to military units or ships, as well as conduct military-tactical and military-sports training camps that will last five days.

In the new academic year, instead of life safety, the school curriculum will include “Fundamentals of Security and Defense of the Motherland,” which includes a course on basic military training.
