The government put forward the head of VTB to the board of directors of the OSK

The Government of the Russian Federation put forward 13 people to the board of directors of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, including the head of VTB Andrei Kostin and First Deputy Chairman of the Bank Andrei Puchkov. The corresponding order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, TASS writes with reference to the press service of the Cabinet.

Details. Among the candidates are the names of the first deputy general director of Rostec Vladimir Artyakov, the head of Rosmorrechflot Zakhary Dzhioev, general director of the state transport leasing company Evgeny Dietrich, the deputy head of the Ministry of Industry of the Ministry of Industry of Viktukhov, the deputy minister of defense Alexei Krivoruchko and the deputy chairman of Gazprom Vitaly Markelov.

Context. On August 14, RBC said that Kostin could be replaced by ex-governor of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko as the chairman of the board of directors of the United Shipbuilding Corporation.

A year ago, Vladimir Putin criticized Alexei Rakhmanov, who headed the OSK since 2014, for unprofitable corporation contracts. By the end of 2022, OSK received a loss of 20 billion rubles.

In August 2023, Putin supported the initiative of the government, according to which VTB will receive a control package of OSK. Later, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said that the corporation shares will transfer to the Bank's trust management for five years.

What you need to know. VTB already oversees many projects in St. Petersburg. For example, the Metrostroy Northern Capital, established by the bank, is building a city metro, and VTB Infrastructure Holding is working on a paid highway between Shpalenaya Street and Vyborgsky highway.
