On the Independence Day of Ukraine, one of the few Ukrainian activists of Karelia was called Andrei Litvin. An unknown man introduced himself as a journalist of a foreign Russian -speaking media, declared undesirable by the Russian authorities, and asked for a meeting to talk about Sandarmokha, a memorial cemetery in the vicinity of the Karelian city of Medvezhyegorsk, where several thousand people were shot during the years of Stalin's repressions. Andrei suggested coming to his work and named the address where he was at that moment.
However, instead of a journalist, three people in civilian clothes arrived at the meeting and, quickly showing the certificates of the FSB officers, took Litvin into the car.

Especially the interlocutors of Litvin were interested in his contacts, and in the conversation they recalled not only the members of the Dmitriev support group, but also the famous bloggers and journalists in Karelia Natalya Sevetz-Ermolin, George Chentemirova (both declared in Russia by foreign agents) and Gleb Yarovoy.
As Andrei Litvin noted, he was not shown any procedural documents and did not bring any accusations. After the conversation, they let go home and returned embroidered shirt, telephone, as well as a laptop with the words "We improved it to you." The FSB officers remained only the Ukrainian flag, with which Litvin came every year on the day of memory in Sandarmokh.
The civilian activist himself believes that law enforcement officials decided to arrange demonstrational law enforcement in Karelia in relation to opposition social activists.
So, on August 17, another participant in the support group of Yuri Dmitriev, blogger Alexei Trunov was detained in Petrozavodsk.
He was taken in the evening near the house and, without presenting anything, was taken to the department for the execution of administrative legislation of the Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Petrozavodsk. There, a protocol on an administrative offense was drawn up on a blogger under part 1 of Art. 20.3 Administrative Code. A formal reason for this was a link to YouTube video with the logo of the “headquarters of Navalny”*, recognized in the Russian Federation with extremist symbols, which Alexei Trunov placed on his page on the VKontakte social network.
However, after drawing up the blogger protocol, they did not release, but left under the trial, which took place the next day. Judge Natalya Tarabrina appointed Alexei Trunov a fine of a thousand rubles. Why it was necessary for this to keep a middle -aged person in custody, law enforcement officers did not explain. Obviously, this is how Karelia "put things in order."
