In Karelia, police detained a man who had previously attacked an Al-Jazeera journalist near the building of the former PMC Wagner Center in St. Petersburg. This was reported by official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk.
On the night of August 25, Palestinian journalist Rania Dridi went live on Al-Jazeera Arabic from the site of a spontaneous memorial to the founder of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, who appeared in St. Petersburg near the building of the former Wagner Center PMC.
During the cut, an unknown man entered the frame, blocked Dridi from the camera and demanded that she stop speaking in a foreign language. The switch-on had to be interrupted, and after that the man hit Dridi in the temple. She was hospitalized, and doctors diagnosed a closed head injury and concussion.

According to the channel, in Petrozavodsk he works as the head of the sales department at the local company Food Supply Center. In 2017, Berdov was sentenced to two and a half years in prison in a fraud case.
