Khakassia: The registration of United Russia for the post of head of the region is canceled

The Head of Khakassia annulled the registration of the State Duma deputy, United Russia Sergei Sokol to the post of head of the region. Three candidates will continue to participate in the election of the governor. The day before, the candidate from United Russia himself withdrew his candidacy because of health problems: he was hospitalized at the end of the week with a complication after surgery in July. His surname is manually crossed out of already printed ballots. At the same time, the regional election commission noted that the falcon will remain the leader of the party list in the elections to the Supreme Council of Khakassia.

According to Vedomosti with reference to sources in the presidential administration, none of the candidates for the post of head of the region will withdraw from the elections. Thus, the current head of the region, Valentin Konovalov (Communist Party), deputy of the Supreme Council, Mikhail Molchanov (LDPR) and general director of Aviation Plant LLC Irbis, Vladimir Grudinin (Communists of Russia), will fight for the post of head of the republic.

In Khakassia, one of the most intense election campaigns takes place. Many political scientists predicted that a second round can take place in this region, which was supposed to be a falcon and the current head of the republic Valentin Konovalov. At the end of August, the head of the CEC stated that a special group of representatives of the CEC, the Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs would be sent to Khakassia. Representatives of the Communists feared possible falsifications and pressure on members of election commissions in connection with elections in the region.

Voting in September 2023 will last for residents of the Republic of Khakassia for three days - from September 8 to 10.
