The arrested Cherepovets human rights activist complained to the prosecutor's office to torture in a pre -trial detention center

Cherepovets human rights activist Gregory Winter, under house arrest, complained to the General of the Russian Federation to torture in jail. This was reported by Memorial with reference to a letter received from Winter.

According to the human rights activist, he was forbidden to come to the prosecutor for confrontation due to house arrest. Winter talked about difficult conditions in a pre-trial detention center: at night in his cell the temperature dropped to 4-6 degrees-as a result, a man deaf to one ear due to low temperature. In the insulator, he lacked the necessary drugs, including insulin. Winter also reported that in the pre -trial detention center he was humiliated and beaten, trying to ensure that he would write a statement about what was “omitted”.

Gregory Winter is accused of “spreading fakes about the army” due to a comment on the dead civilians and eight reposts about the shelling of the drama theater in Mariupol. In September 2022, the man was sent to a pre -trial detention center, and already in October they transferred under house arrest. Memorial recognized Winter political prisoner.
