
The 2nd Western District Military Court, at a visiting session in Voronezh, sentenced residents of the Voronezh region Ilya Migachev and Sergei Kopylov to 8 and 9 years in prison in the case of attempted terrorist attack , damage and attempt to damage property. This was reported by Mediazona with reference to the press service of the court.
Migachev and Kopylov will spend the first two years of their sentence in prison, the remaining six and seven years in a maximum security colony. After their release from the colony, both were given an additional year and a half of restricted freedom.
According to security officials, at the end of September, Migachev and Kopylov planned to bombard a transformer substation in the village of Khrenovoe with Molotov cocktails in order to “destabilize the situation and cause significant property damage.” The Investigative Committee adds that the arson did not take place due to the intervention of FSB and Ministry of Internal Affairs officers.
