The mother of a Chechen resident who escaped from violence threatens to kidnap his lawyer’s child

Lawyer Tatyana Solomina, who provided legal assistance to a young man who fled Chechnya, began receiving threats. This was reported by the crisis group SK SOS.

The mother of a Chechen resident said in a telephone conversation with him that she paid money to “notorious bandits” to kidnap Solomina’s 13-year-old child.

“There is this woman who is with you, who took you away, we found out her address, we found out who she is. We knew that she had a 13-year-old son, and a man also went after him. These are no longer civil servants, these are the most notorious criminals from the very bottom. We paid them money. Her son is already being watched to kidnap him. This woman is also being guarded. We hired the most notorious bandits, paying them money, so that this woman and her child would be executed. We won’t just let anyone drag you around,” says the woman. An audio recording of the conversation was published on the SK SOS telegram channel.

The young man (his name has not been given) escaped from Chechnya in July. Then, reportedly, two unknown people tracked him down and removed him from the train in Tyumen. Later, his father flew in to take the young man back to the republic. Then he turned to Solomina and she helped him call a taxi and go to another region.

When the resident of Chechnya was safe, he called his mother with a request to stop the search for him, but she began to threaten Solomina in response. The young man himself fears that his family might kill him. Such threats, as SOS IC writes, came from his father, and his brother said that he “should be sent to prison to Kadyrov’s men.”

Solomina has already appealed to the Investigative Committee and demanded that a criminal case be opened due to threats to life and health, preparations for the abduction of a child and the illegal collection of information about private life. The mother of a resident of Chechnya, in her own words, knows the name and place of residence of Solomina, as well as the age and place of education of her son. At the same time, Solomina herself says that she did not provide information about her child, and her client did not tell anyone about working with her.
