The Ministry of Education has created a professional retraining center for participants in the war in Ukraine and other military operations who want to teach the subject “Fundamentals of Security and Defense of the Motherland” in schools. The head of the department, Sergei Kravtsov, announced this during the “Memory is Sacred” pedagogical forum in Stavropol; his words were quoted by TASS.
The retraining center was opened on the basis of the State University of Education (SUE), which is located in Moscow. The minister did not specify in what format it works.
“Fundamentals of security and defense of the homeland” will begin to be taught in schools from September 1, 2024. At the “Memory is Sacred” forum, Kravtsov said that this subject is currently being “approbated,” which will replace it in the educational program “Fundamentals of Life Safety.” According to the minister, the basic military training module will be strengthened there.
